Spell check dictionary question

Is it possible to remove a word from the built in (US English) dictionary? For example: I correct a lot of scanned text where the word "of" is often rendered as "op" and the dictionary accepts it as being valid.

You can't remove words from the built-in dictionary, but you can specify that "op" be treated as a misspelled word:

1. Click Configure > Preferences.
2. Click Spelling.
3. Click Edit.
4. Under Words, type op.
5. Under Action, select Exclude (treat as misspelled).
6. Click Add Word.
