Tool Ouput window failure

After installing 5.4.2 to overcome problems that 4.7.3 had with Win7, when I clicked on View>Tool Output it crashed TP.
Ctrl+F11 also generates the error

When I use tools such as Compare files, or HTML Validator the output window doesn't open. The latter does work as I get the fanfare if it validates and the other sound if it doesn't - OK as long as it validates, but not much help when it doesn't!
