When I use the File-Open function, I am taken to the Open Files window. I choose the subdirectory I want to open my file. I then use the Drop Down window to open "Files of Type" (in this specific situation, I am looking for all my .bat files).
When I choose Files of Type .bat, the search window shows me only the subdirectory folders and I lose the results of all .bat files. I have confirmed there are, in fact, .bat files in this subdirectory.
Any suggestions?
Pamela

As I understand the entry you are choosing out of the drop down list includes not only *.bat files but other extensions too.
Configure menu/Preferences/File Name Filters
is where your drop down list is defined.
You should check the 'Wild cards' text field in this dialog
The correct syntax for more than 1 extension is e.g.
*.txt;*.bat;*.log
i.e. wildcard + dot + extension then a semicolon as separator
You could also check whether the other extensions are recognized.
