TP Superior to UE

Post by kengrubb »

UE is our standard editor the company provides. I'm the lone idiot using TP.

Another programmer was trying to use the Find In Files function in UE, and I presumed behavior was very similar to TP. Wow, what an unwieldy beast. It was a simple search of ASCII text files. The string contained a caret(^) and UE appears to be treating it as an RE search, even though the RE box isn't checked.

I did the search with TP and found what he was looking for without any problems.

Unless I were to move to an IDE, I ain't budging from TP.
(2[Bb]|[^2].|.[^Bb])

That is the question.

We also use UE v15 as the company standard general purpose text editor, but I was able to buy and still use a copy of TP v4.73.

UE has a lot of useful features, particularly in recent versions, but the default menu organization is still an absolute mess.
