When I copy and paste text from MS Word and it has opening and closing quotes, I get a black bar displayed where the opening and closing quotes are in the text. Is there a way to insert opening and closing quotes in TP text?
Thanks,
Joe

I could be wrong but I suspect Word is turning your 'straight quotes' into ‘smart quotes’. If you can live with it and turn off Word's autocorrect options for this you will be able to copy and paste them.
1. On the Tools menu, click AutoCorrect Options, then click the AutoFormat As You Type tab.
2. Under Replace as you type, select or clear the "Straight quotes" with "smart quotes" check box.

Running TextPad 5.4 on Windows XP SP3 and on OS X 10.7 under VMWare or Crossover.
