Possible bug? Docked tool output setting does not stick

I have an unusual problem. Haven't had any luck searching for it in the forum.

I like viewing my Tool Output in a dockable window (by checking "Tool Ouput" under "Dockable log windows" under View in Preferences). Often times, unpredictably, when using one of my external tools the Tool Output will be displayed in a newly created tab instead of the docked window-- and both the tab and docked window are visible. I can restore the desired behavior by closing both the tab and docked window, and then going back into View and unchecking and rechecking the "Dockable..." option. Things operate properly again for a few sessions, and then the problem will happen again unexpectedly.

So far I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling TextPad. No improvement.

I am using version 5.3.1.

I think I fixed it. I browsed out to the directory C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Helios\TextPad\5.0 and deleted the config.xml file. I had to reconfigure all my preferences the next time I started TextPad, but so far I don't seem to have any more problems.

My apologies, I spoke too soon. The bug is back and worse than before. Now I am greeted with additional Tool Output windows each time I start TextPad.
