C:\ProgramData\TextPad
C:\Users\Steve\AppData\Local\TextPad
C:\Users\Steve\AppData\Roaming\TextPad
None of these show my custom .syn (syntax) options when editing document classes.
Do I really need to still put these files under C:\Program Files\TextPad\User, or is there a more sensible, and Windows 7 compatible, location?
Where do I put custom .syn files under Windows 7?

I believe you can put your syntax files wherever you want.
Close all open instances.
Open a new instance.
>Configure>Preferences>Folders>Syntax
put in the path.

I kept using the help button - which gave false information (that's why I was trying variations above). But the configuration dialog actually tells you where they belong (or you can override that). Much, much more useful than the "help".

Developers: If you read this - just change help to refer to the configuration dialog, and then folks can see where they belong even on future OSes.
