Hi:
I've just reinstalled Textpad Version 5 on a new computer and I can't get any line breaks to showup in my documents. In Preferences under Document Classes>Default I've got the "Word wrap long lines" box checked, the "Word break at column number" box checked with "65" inserted in that field, and the "Apply these settings to all document classes" box is checked also.
In addition, I can't get the line breaks to showup whether I've got the "Save with no breaks in lines" radio button checked, or the "Save with hard breaks" radio button checked.
I know I'm missing something here and I'd greatly appreciate your help.
Thanks.
Jim

From the Main Menu: Configure/Preferences/View
Scroll down to Visible Spaces
Make sure you have check mark next to paragraphs
Apply and OK to close Preferences window.
When your document is open:
Again, from the Main Menu: View, Visible Spaces should be activated.

When making configuration changes I find it best to follow these steps, especially for any changes in Classes:
1. Close all other copies of TextPad.
2. Close all open documents, INCLUDING THE DEFAULT NEW BLANK DOCUMENT.
3. Make the changes you want: Configure/Preferences/......
4. Apply and OK your way out the configurations.
5. Close TextPad.
6. Open TextPad again, and your changes should be good.

Thanks!
Thank you for your assistance. I now realize that the problem was that I was waiting for my changes to take effect in the current document that I had open, but I needed to close the document and reopen it in order for the changes I made to take effect.
