"Find in Files" Not Working

Post by plethera1 »

All of a sudden my ability to search using "Find in Files" no longer works. The dialog box is shown allowing me to enter my criteria but when I hit the search button nothing happens. I re-installed textpad which solved the problem but it quickly came back. Has anyone ever seen this? BTW, the normal Find continues to work.

I don't even get the dialog box for the "Find in Files". The frontmost window definitely cedes control (window bar unhighlights), but nothing else occurs. Textpad is not locked up or anything.

Same here, I am getting the same issue as grindhouse, have as yet been unable to put my finger on it.

Am running TextPad 5.3.1 and Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Does anyone have suggestions? I need to make use of the Mark All function but am unable to access it.

I'm also running TP 5.3.1 (though I'm about to downgrade for other reasons) and have no trouble with either Find in Files or Mark All.

MartinLondon1977: Find in Files and Mark All are mutually exclusive. You can only Mark All in a single file.

I have not been able to generate a situation where Find in Files generates no response at all. No matter what I do, either a dialog box or the Search Results window comes up. An invalid folder path gives a dialog box. A filter causing no files to be searched gives a dialog box and the search results window. If the search results window is already open, then the only clue that the search is proceeding is the status bar at the bottom of the page, which could possibly be confusing.
