How do I find duplicate enteries?

I have some documents that are 1000 lines of number sequences.

I have 3 duplicate entries somewhere in the list.

How do I find those & delete, with out changing the order of the lines (they are not alphabetic, they are sequenced in order of import.) without searching one line at a time for duplicates in document?

I need to remove the duplicates from the list, then I would love to compare the list in another document even merge two documents and delte duplicates, is this possible?
