Limitation to: Edit --> Insert--> # of Files?

There appears to be an undocumented limitation to the number of text files that can be combined using: Edit --> Insert--> Files. I'm trying to combine 256 csv files. The total combined size of all the files is 511 mb. If I try and combine say just 100 of the files using Edit --> Insert--> Files, I'm able to combine all files without problem. However, when I try and combine all 256 files all in one go nothing happens.

Is it a know limitation of TextPad that Edit --> Insert--> Files will only work with a limited number and or combined size of all the files that you're trying to combine in one go?
