Problem With Right Click - Registry Setting

Post by JabbaMan »

I have used TextPad forever. I always right click on a file name in Windows Explorer and Text Pad has always appeared under Open With...

Recently my laptop crashed. I reinstalled everything as well as TextPad but TextPad is no longer on the right click main menu. It now appears under the Open With sub menu. At first I thought I could live with that but am finding it difficult to adjust to that and not just clicking TextPad.

I have never done anything special on install. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling - no change.

I'm sure this is a registry setting but could not figure out what to change.

I searched the forums but didn't really see anything that applies. This computer is running XP Service Pack 3.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

In order to put TextPad on the Context menu, you will need to implement the following procedure:

From the Configure menu choose:

1. Preferences
2. General
3. Under the heading "Put shortcuts to TextPad on" check "Context Menu"
4. Click Apply / OK.

I hope this helps.
