Number of occurrences in Find in files is not the same as in

Post by jakej »

If I use the Find in files function it reports, for example, that there are 36 occurrences of a particular string in a particular file. If I open that file, however, and search for the same string it says there are only 35 occurrences. Why is that?

What is the particular string? What are the 36 occurrences? What are the 35 occurrences?

Here is an example

Searching for: market
C:\SWF\BocssCC1-EuropeanMarket\SourceCode\VisualStudio\BOCSS2BusinessObjects\Order.vb: 130
Found 130 occurrence(s) in 1 file(s)

but if I open this file and use the Find otion (with the same options) to Mark All these lines it only finds 109 occurrences.

Although TextPad tells you it has Found 109 occurrence(s), it has actually marked 109 lines. There are lines containing more than one occurrence.

Ah, no, that's not the answer. Find In Files shows the same confusing message.

Please provide more information.
