save as popup

I have used the TextPad Program for Years and recently upgraded to TextPad 5 but an irritating problem has occurred with the new installation. The "save as" window keeps popping up every few minutes, consequently driving me nuts.
I want the option to name the file "AFTER" I complete the file and then select a name that will have reference to the file, or, close without saving which deletes the file.
I don't see any reference to my problem in the prefences setup, perhaps I may be overlooking something. I tried looking in the help section but I don't have time to read everything right now.
I either have to stop this irritation or stop using TextPad.
I hope someone can help.

The second thing that has changed with TextPad 5.2 is the icon it shows for TextPad files in Windows, it used to show a cool little TextPad icon now it shows a text icon that looks similar to a "Word.doc" or a windows "Note Pad" file, EEEEeeeewwwww, why would anyone
want that???? Is there a solution????

In order to prevent the Save As dialog appearing, you will need to uncheck the option to Automatically save on the Backup Preferences page.
