Maximum Number of Open .TXT files ?

TextPad v5.2.0 32 BIT

What is the current limit for the maximum number of Files Open at the same time ? Is the constraint the NUMBER of open files OR the size*number of open files ?

I am doing global edits/search & replace across approx 500 small .txt files - TP wont allow me to oepn all of them so I currenlty have to divide this edit into 4/5 sections. As I do this regularly its a real pain !

Is there a way to overcome the current number of open files at the same time ?
