Invalid Preceding Regular Expression

I am totally new to Wild Edit. I am trying to do a simple use test and I keep on getting the following error: "Invalid Preceding Regular Expression". The entries I have are:
Find what: hot tub
Replace with: spa
In files matching: *.html *.htm
Character encoding: windows-1252
Match whole words

Please help. I have NO idea what is causing this. I am not even using any wild cards. This is meant to be a very simple, basic test. Thank
