docking document selector

Post by Joel Handelsman »

I inadvertently "undocked" the document selector so it appears as a separate window on top of the open document.

Found two posts on-point, but neither helps:

http://www.textpad.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3927 - page does not display

"Right click on the right margin of the Document Selector window and add a check mark to Allow Docking." - right clicking does nothing (v 5.0.3)

docking document selector

The URL provided in the forum is incorrect (.info instead of .com)

However, following the instructions relating to regedit does not work because there is no key named docking.

Yeah, that applies only to version 4.x.
In 5.x, when you start dragging any dockable window, a number of blue "drop targets" appear. Drag the mouse over one of them, and release the button.

Thanks so much for the help!

I always wondered what those blue buttons were for. . . Is this documented in help and I just missed it?

What did I do to undock the selector in the first place?

I couldn't find it anywhere, it looks like the help hasn't been updated for all or some new 5.x features.
BTW, I noticed you can also double click the Document Selector's titlebar to (un)dock it, maybe that's how you undocked it earlier.
