The tool output window does not print using textpad 5.0.3; instead, it prints the currently open document.
TO REPRODUCE:
compare two files that are different so that there is a non-zero amount of text in the tool output window.
click anywhere in the current document (NOT the tool output window).
select File;PrintPreview. Note that the document that is previewed is the current document (this is expected).
now click anywhere in the tool output window.
select File;PrintPreview. Note that the document that is previewed is the tool output window (this is expected).
Click Print from the PrintPreview screen. the document that prints is NOT the tool output, but the currently visible document above it. THIS IS NOT EXPECTED.
SOLUTION:
The document that prints should be the same document that displays in the PrintPreview window... and the tool output window should be able to be printed (e.g. don't "fix" this bug by not allowing the tool output window to display in PrintPreview or be printed).
WORKAROUND:
Yes.... select all text in the tool output window, copy to the clipboard (^A^C for those keyboard junkies), open a new, empty, document, paste the text on the clipboard (^V)... then print this document as any other document (File;Print).
tool output window doesn't print in textpad 5.0.3
