U3 is one of the growing trend of 'portable' (in the sense of 'lite') versions of software meant to be installed and used on thumb drives. See http://www.lifehacker.com/software/usb- ... 179025.php

Lifehacker has been enticing me with numerous articles about life on a thumb drive - and portable TextPad would be great for my upcoming USB life.
