Compiling but No Applet!

Post by fuji36 »

I was running Java fine from TextPad 4.7,( I believe J2 1.4.2_01 or close ), then had a problem with I.E.6.0.

After working on that probelm, I installed Netscape ( ver 8. something).
Made it my default browsre.
Textpad will still compile , create .class file, but no longer created a .htm
, Run Applet Viewer just hangs up in Command Prompt w/ no messages.

I have un-installed, re-installed both Java and TextPad in the proper order, still the same problem. Went back to I.E. as browser, nothing..

I also noticed, after un-installing textPad, then re-installing, the changes I made to the 'Tools' are there still, I'm guessing that only cleaning out the Registry truly gets rid of TextPad.

Just a wild guess, but could NS8 come with it's own Java? If so, perhaps uninstalling that, reinstalling Java and then TP would do the trick. Just my .02usd.
Edit Heard of FireFox? ;)
Then I open up and see
the person fumbling here is me
a different way to be
