viewing null characters
After an upgrade from Win2k to WinXP, I loaded TextPad 4.7.3. Before on Win2k and TextPad 4.7.2, if a file contained null characters, a block character was displayed. However, now under WinXP and TP 4.7.3, the nulls show as spaces and are difficult to see. How can I get the block back?
Best Regards,
Stan

Are you using the same font for the document class that contains the null character? I find that smart quotes and such show as blocks in my humble courier but other fonts will have the intended character represented. Perhaps the same situation is ocurring with NULLs?

I never played around with the document class fonts, so I assume I had the defaults. Mine is currently set at courier 10. I tried several other fonts and none exposed the nulls. The only way I see them is to turn on 'visalbe spaces' and look for places with no dots (ie> ....... ....)

Need to see nulls
My co-worker can see pipes for the nulls in our text file. I cannot. We both have the font set to Courier 10 western and both use the same format (Ansi) 4.7.2 version. We have windows XP professional. I need to see the pipes as well (blocks) for the nulls. Can you tell me what the settings need to be? Also, is there a way, short of uninstalling and re-installing to return all settings back to the original default setings?
Thank you!
Thank you!
