Wild Edit replacing inside XML files

Post by TC »

I am trying to replace a single line in 1,000 XML files and some files are not being changed although they do have the target string.

<OID>2.16.840.1.113883.2.1.3.2.4.15</OID>

MS Explorer is still finding files with the original text.

I think that this might be due to the character encoding.

Can anyone suggest a solution?

Thanks

Just to get this out of the way from the start, from WE's help file under "Warnings":
- Files/Folders with the Hidden or System attributes are ignored.
- Until you purchase a license, WildEdit will not edit files larger than 10KB.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for that, but the Folders and Files are Not System or Hidden, I hold a full license and the files vary in length from 2 to 24 KB.

If I remove the Tags then the replace works, but this is not what I need.

:D
Panic Over

The problem appears to be that the Match Whole Words box was ticked and an XML tag field close tag is not treated as a Whole Word.
