im new with JAVA and i cant get my compile tool to work

Lol when i try and compile it sends my program to my notepad

i have every thing right exept for the command (i think), i originaly typed in "Compile Java" for the command when i first added the command to a tool.

command: cmd.exe // i cant find a way to change this in the preferences
perameters: $File
initail folder: $FileDir

this is my regular expression to match output:
^\(\(\(.[^:]\)\|\(A-Za-z]:\)\)[^:]+\):\([0-9]+\):

file: 1 line: 4 column: __

maybe i need to install JDK. because i dont think i have yet.

as im reading more and more i find i now need to install JDK but can i still do it after i have already installed textpad
