Customize HTML "Blank Page"

Post by randyp »

Where is TP obtaining the text that is placed into the document when you select "Blank Page ^"?

We would like to customize this to change the DOCTYPE to 4.01 transitional, remove some of the deprecated <bodY tag attribute settings, strip some of the <meta> tags, insert a <link> tag that all of our documents require, and put all the tags in lower case.

Thanks!

In the Clip Library section, right click on Blank Page^, and select Edit.

Now you can edit this to insert whatever you want to replace what is there.

Perhaps make a copy and insert another version until you have what you want. Rich click on it, select Copy. Right click in Library again, and select Paste New Entry. Change Name of cllipping from "<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 3.2 Final//EN">" to "4.01 Page", and edit the content, and save it.

To save immediately, Right click in library again and click on Close and answer Yes to prompt about saving, then reopen Clip Library again.

Thanks, Bob!

Right-click. Seems obvious now. Why didn't I think of that?

Minor question: Do you know where this stuff is all stored? I would love to edit it in something like Textpad :) instead of a little dialog box.

Right-click on the dropdown for the clip libraries, then select "Edit book". Now guess where the file will be opened... ;-)
