what do i need

I am a highschool student who wants to purchase text pad. I saw that it cost 27 US dollars, but i was confused as to why i needed a license. What do i need to pay in order to get this?

TextPad is a shareware product which is downloadable for evaluation. If any user wishes to continue using TextPad after evaluation then a valid license must be purchased to legalise the software.
