Edit Pad Pro is available for Linux for a price. If they can do it and get away with charging for it.......

I don't use this, I would put up the $39 in a fingersnap for TextPadLinux.
Heads up to Helios

There's also a threat incoming from Eclipse. I now do all my Java editing in the (multi-platform & multi-target) Eclipse IDE, where previously I used TextPad exclusively.
I'll still use Textpad, but I would no longer feel compelled to pay to stay at the bleeding edge of the tool. I might out of shere good will (I'm consistently astonished to see the version number remain at 4.x) but I'd be positively delighted to pay £50 or so for the privilege of running my favourite off-the-cuff editor on Linux.
I don't know how mature the Win32 API compatible libraries are on Linux, but I wonder if Helios have explored this avenue for a port ? Presumably so... any feedback on what they found would be very interesting !
