Removing Shift-Del association from EditCut has no effect

Post by jpalo »

Hi,
removing Shift-Del association from EditCut has no effect. Selected text is still (in addition to deletion) also copied to clipboard.

First I set Keystroke compatibility (Preferences->Editor) to Microsoft Applications and then removed Shift-Del binding to editCut (Preferences->Keyboard).

This also occurs even though I first set Keystroke compatibility to Textpad and then remove the binding.

Could someone else confirm this or is it just me? The same happens with 4.7.0 and 4.7.1.

Thanks.

Same for me, I also closed all open document's. Using TP 4.7.1 on winXP.
Could this be a windows function? ie. something active in all programs?

The arrow keys, and Insert, Delete, Home, End, Page Up and Page Down revert to their Windows default actions, if they are not assigned as shortcut keys. Therefore, to make Shift+Delete do the same as Delete, assign it to the EditDelete command.
