Recently tried downloading and reinstalling the earliest version of TextPad available through the website (3.25?). This was probably close to the version that I first started using and first registered. I was surprised how little changed it was.
Does TextPad have a history that goes all the way back to a version 1.0 at some time in the dim and distant past?
Are there still copies of really early versions kicking about somewhere to try out for fun?

The earliest version I could find is 2.0, dating from June 1996. You can download a zip file containing the essentials (but no installer) from here:
ftp://download.textpad.com/pub/archives/txtpad20.zip
Unfortunately, all versions of TextPad 1.x were accidentally deleted, during a PC upgrade, several years ago.
