How to recover courier regular font

Post by insitus »

Suddnely, italic courier font became default setting for TextPad v.4.7 today.

I checked Configure > Preferences > Document Classes >Font
Regarldes the settingof the Scope either to Screen or Printer.

What I see was that there are only three kinds of Courier fonts (italic, bold, italic bold). I could not find regular courier.

When I cross-echecked with WinXP Notepad and word, I see the presence of "regular" courier. It seems that somehow regulara courier menu was disappeared from TextPad.

Please advise me how to recover regulara courier font setting.

On my system (XP sp1) I have Courier and Courier New.
Both have regular fonts. Did you try them both for
Configure > Preferences > Document Classes > Default > Font?
Oh, and close all open files first, it's the "in" thing to do here ;)

I see that in my computer (XP). In addition, what you suggested, I even tried Courier-wp. All showed italic. I am quite puzzled about this event.
It happened a couple hours ago. I am now forced to use Notepad instead of TextPad. Regards, James

Do you have TweakUI for Windows XP, from MS Powertoy's?
There is a "Repair Font Folder" function there.

I decided to use a simple solution. Uninstalled the TextPad and re-installed. That solved the whole problem. But I wish to know what cause the shift of font. I recall that it happend a few times in the past.

Regards,

James
