find/replace crashes in XP

Im using winXp pro now.

when i try to replace text for examble (change) with 5 line text.
textpad shuts down. this did not happend in win98

I'm having this same exact problem. I have upgraded to the latest version of txtpad.

There is no error message, it just closes the program.

If the search or replacement text is longer than 1024 characters, this is due to a known bug in XP, which TextPad 4.7.1 works around by not allowing longer strings. Otherwise, please can you be more specific: what exactly is your initial text, and what are you searching for and replacing with?
