Macros

Post by Indian »

:?
The option "Find in Files" is greyed out when trying to record a macro. Can this be overcome somehow?

I am trying to search for a text string within folders on my computer. Also there are number of text strings In a file which need to be located and the results of the find pasted in a new file.

That makes sense.. cuz find in files requres you to make a decision ... type of file, folder name.. when you replay the macro its on auto pilot and doesnt stop to ask questions.

So that cannot be overcome, (dunno if someone else found a way yet..)

Use find in files, the results will be in a new window /file /save.
but like you already found out, you cannot use a macro for that.
