Configuration

Post by dnavarrojr »

I'm trying to make a transition from the DOS version of "The Semware Editor" to Textpad.

I have searched the forums and gone through all of the menus and there are a couple of things I can't seem to find...

First, how do I configure the HOME key so that it always goes to the beginning of the line and not the beginning of the text on the line (when there is indented text)?

Second, is it possible to configure the END key so that if it's at the end of a line, it automatically jumps to the end of the next line?

Thanks!

The Home key alternately moves the cursor between the first non-space character and the left margin. The only way to avoid that behavior is to turn word-wrap on. We'll consider implementing a sticky end-of-line option in a future release.

For me, with word wrap either on or off, the LineLeft (and LineLeftExtend) commands take you to the left margin. The LineStart command takes you alternatively to the first non-whitespace character in the line, and the left margin.

So, just reassign the HOME and SHIFT+HOME key commands to the "Left" ones.
