You nailed it.

Works for me. I haven't done "QA" on this file, but it solves all of the various File/Open, double-click, context menu, and send-to failures related to files on the CD.

When I look at "properites" on my text files on CD, they contains created and modifed timestamps, but the "accessed" field is blank. That appears to be the culprit.

Congratulations. Nice work. How did you figure this out?

Downloaded and installed. So far so good.
Thanks for the fix!

10% inspiration and 90% perspiration! The inspiration came from the google thread that discntd referred us to, and the rest was grinding through Microsoft's source code, looking for a likely cause.

The parameter is incorrect (network)

This 470b fixed also a similar problem openning files over the network.
Thank you!

Nice work....but...

Thanks for the fix, but I just downloaded 4.7 today and you haven't fixed this in your general release. I had to wade though 5 pages of this post (after I found the thread) to get the solution. You should at least put a note on your download page....

Thanks for the good work.

I've only been lurking, but I had the problem, and it is now fixed with 4.7.0b. :D
