How to set file type without saving file

Post by BGJeff »

I frequently use Textpad as a code editor becuase I like the highlighting and can customize it). So I copy my code to the clipboard and paste it into a Textpad document. But to get the highlighting, I have to set a document's file type. To do that, I have to save the document, which I don't always want to do.

Is there a way to set the file's type without saving?

Thanks,
Jeff

:) Thanks, your suggestion works like a charm!

My only complaint now would be the number of clicks/keys required and remembering which .SYN files to use for which types. A neat little upgrade for TextPad (I hope they're listening) would be to make this a one or two-click operation. That said, this is much better than having to save a bunch of work files.

Thanks MudGuard,
Jeff
