Small and easy: Back and Forward button

Post by Frank Fesevur »

Support for the Back and Forward buttons to cycle through the tabbed documents. These keys are available on many (new) keybaords, like the Internet, Natural and Office Keyboards of Microsoft.

Personally I would prefer this to be a custom key assignment (eg F12 or something) but the idea is a good one. Sorry, I wouldn't want this anywhere near my arrow keys.

I just assigned these keys to the commands Windows-WindowNext and Windows-WindowPrev
While assigning, nothing was displayed in the "Assigned Key" edit field - but the assignments work - even after closing Textpad down and restarting it.

Seems nice, but it doesn't work as expected. It is just the same as Ctrl+Tab which switches between the last active documents and not the documents as they are displayed in the tab bar. So the arrows don't really cycle through them. So maybe just an extra WindowCycleNext and WindowCyclePrev command would do the trick.
