Windows2Linux (Win2Lin) allows you to convert any Windows operating system (95 and up) to a Linux-powered Open Source version, that will and feel exactly the same, but uses the famous Linux core instead. The program effectively converts Internet Explorer, Media Player and all other MS components to Open Source as well, while retaining most of your original settings. Due to the much higher security under Linux, you will need to re-enter your dial-up and email passwords after the conversion. Additional features include support for MS Office conversion, step-by-step wizard and full restore functionality. Since Win2Lin integrates all of the original Windows functionality while at the same time opening and preserving the converted source, you will be able to install all Windows applications, as well as Linux programs. The program takes advantage of the new SourceInjection method, that allows to inject an open source code layer into any Win32 binary or compatible OS components, thereby preserving all the functionality while legally transforming the system to Open Source. Win2Lin comes with embedded XP injectors, that allow you to upgrade any previous Windows version to an XP compatible OS in the progress (optional).
