5.0 and im not sure what you mean by which method im using to open files. I cant opan any java file that i program from my java programming class like my homework or what not, unless i open it manually from textpad

that didnt work for me.... next i tried uninstalling the java and textpad and reinstalled it in the order of jdk first then textpad and still nothing, i have a huge assignment due soon so any help would be great. thanks
