Explorer tab stopped working
When I try to switch away from Textpad to a different program, nothing happens. I have to minimise Textpad to see Firefox, for instance. This only started happening a few weeks ago. Today I upgraded to 5.3.1 but that had no effect. I've renamed the config file. Still no good.

Sigh. I was editing a different version of the .syn file, so of course, my changes weren't having any effect.

syntax highlighting for a log file
I'm evaluating TextPad for use with a log file which can run to thousands of lines. The software has many components, all writing output to a single log file, so each line has a component name, and it's that which I want to highlight.
The problem is that not all my keywords are being highlighted ...
