Hoping for a Unicode future
Let's hope Helios rewards it's loyal customers with better Unicode support in an upcoming TextPad 5.x releases. I've got my fingers crossed.

Plugins are great
EmEditor, JEdit, and Firefox all allow for plugins. It's a great idea. Not sure how hard it would be for Helios to add this feature. Plugins would be much appreciated during the long time periods when Helios doesn't work on TextPad. Also, plugins can allow user's with unusual needs to get features ...

Yes yes yes
I would like it very much if tabs had an X to make them easier to close. Some people prefer a visual approach rather than having to remember yet another keyboard shortcut, which tend to differ greatly between different applications. Adding an X to tabs adds little clutter and no complexity to the ...

Not Dead Yet!
Hello Helios, Thank you for resuming TextPad development. TextPad is my favorite text editor. I've tried scores of others, but TextPad remains the best one for me. I'm happy to hear that v5.00 is the first of a series of releases. I can hardly wait for the new and improved features. Some recent ...

TextPad is best but could be better
Because TextPad doesn't adequately support Unicode, I'm always looking for a replacement that's as good as TextPad but fully supports Unicode. So far, I haven't found one. For me, the next best text editor is EmEdit from EmuraSoft. With it you can type in foreign language characters and actually see ...

This feature request might be same as another one
This feature request (id=3933) is very similar to another one. The other feature request is titled "Support for Tag Files" and has ID=4157. Merging these two requests could give a more accurate idea of how important TextPad users think this feature is. It would be great if TextPad let me to jump ...

I think TP v4.7 fixed this problem
Hi, I noticed this same problem in earlier versions of TP. However, I think v4.7 no longer transforms Unicode characters into something else. In v4.7 TP seems to display these Unicode characters as a variety of ASCII characters, but TP leaves the underlying Unicode data unchanged. I'm interested to ...

Support CTAGS to quickly move between methods/functions.
It is my biggest wish that TextPad support easy navigation tags, such as ctags, to move around a large file. I'd use this feature to quickly move from one method to another in a Java or Python file. If I were an Olympic text editor competition judge, adding ctag support would make me raise TextPad's ...

TP 4.7 Fixes Big Unicode Problem
Dear Helios, Thank you for v4.7's improved ability to handle unicode files. With prior TP versions, when I opened a file with unusual unicode character, TP would translate those characters into little black rectangles. This translation was not only cosmetic. It cause the loss of some of the unicode ...
