unbidden features
I don't understand the frustration. Once you turn them off, if you really don't like them, these features shouldn't bother you again. In the meantime, many of us find them useful enhancements to the multiple document interface. I'm ambivalent; but I'm glad they're there when I want them and I don't ...

The truth is that software is always messing with the registry and probably with a lot less restraint than is being discussed here. Moreover, in my experience, it's not so spooky as everyone tries to tell you, and TextPad's entries in particular are discretely located. Frankly, I trust the reg files ...

One more on the bandwagon . . .
Yep, TextPad is the one tool I want wherever I go. What good is U3 without it?

Error accessing . . .
I wonder if this is related. I seem to get my error only (so far) when opening a workspace that contains text files (if I open individual text files, it seems to be fine). I've gone through configuration and even the registry but haven't been able to make it go away: "Error accessing 'C:\Program ...

Transfer TextPad settings and/or Re-Install
I think this is the link to which you were refering: Backing up TP registries Is it okay to just load this from one machine to another? Potential issues? Other registry snippets that are useful? Does this get associations? What files need to be copied (C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application ...

This is a great question. I'm always re-loading, transfering from one machine to another, etc. I know several places where I can go and grab files and and I frequently end up patching things into the registry, etc., but it would sure be nice to have this laid out systematically and to know what's ...

Shweeeet. I didn't know that. I was cruising through looking for something else and stumbled across this cool tip.
Thanks!

workspace issues
FYI: loading the last workspace didn't help. Again, I'm guessing there's a clue in that. Sorry I didn't check before my previous post.
In any case, the problem is still there. I guess I might try searching the forum under workspace issues . . . Still eager for any suggestions.

I want just the opposite . . .
It drives me crazy. Every time I open up TextPad on a particular machine (it's Terminal Services and I have the problem under more than one account), I have to re-open the document selector. I've been using TextPad for close to ten years now and I don't recall having this problem before. I ...
