Re: Problem with files encoded with Windows-1251 Cyrillic
Can you please attach said file here to reproduce your problem? Both TextPad and Notepad++ can only guess the encoding of a text file not having a BOM, so your file might have too many portions that aren't distinctive enough (f.e. latin letters in the beginning).

Re: Search and replace: inserting colons in multiple lists?
Yes: Open all "lists" (I suppose files) in TextPad. Of course: start with 2-5 for testing all this first. Press F8 or select Search > Replace... to get that dialog. Tick Conditions > Regular expressions since you want to match a pattern instead of exact texts. Tick Conditions > Match case in case ...

This also happens by default in TextPad 8 and any other window with a menu, just like it was introduced with Windows 95 (or even Windows 3): F10 enters the window menu. Go try it with other programs, preferably Notepad, Calculator, Paint, Notepad++. It's unusual that you achieved to prevent this ...

Re: numbering macro problems
Perhaps your program or programming language doesn't support regular expressions or doesn't support certain functions you use in your macro. In this case, you need to make sure that you are using the correct syntax for your program or programming language. Your macro may not have the correct ...

Re: TextPad 8.12.0 error when using Tab Table HTML Table macro
the Tab Table to HTML Table macro Isn't this something you've created yourself or imported? I'd be surprised if it came with a vanilla installation. It's hard to reconstruct without having the macro - why not at least giving us its content? Otherwise let me give you a few options: Try the newest ...

Re: Copy multiple filenames from the document selector
In version 8 such a context menu item does not exist, but it is already available in the menu Edit > Copy Other > All File Names (while the menu item File Name behaves like you described: only copies the focused file, being deactivated on non-files). This should also exist in version 9 and a ...

Re: Copy multiple filenames from the document selector
Please note that it also contains non-files, such as search results and new documents - that's why it's called "Document Selector" and not "Files Selector".

Is MODS.BP the file you're editing or something that the tool wants to open? Former: make sure to use $File instead of $FileName , because it includes the absolute path. Latter: start the tool with all parameters it needs, and make sure TextPad's setting "Initial folder" is set accordingly (most ...

Re: Version 9.1.0 - No Search/Replace Dialogs
They're most likely out of reach. Wherever that happens to you (the program doesn't matter): Pay attention if the main window loses its focus. In older Windows versions the title bar would get a different color, so one could quickly tell which window had the focus (speak: was in the foreground). If ...

Re: Rust highlighting support
In your installation folder you have several .SYN files which define syntax highlighting for each language. See those and TextPad's help under Reference Information > Syntax Definition Files to create your own .SYN file. If you made one and like to share it, it would be added to Download > addons ...

Re: "Encountered an improper argument"
You can edit your posts - that way you don't have to create multiple in a row. Likewise you can press CTRL+C on each message dialog to get its text content into the clipboard, to then paste it here (then words can also be found by the board/Google). If you save that document of yours with encoding ...

Re: bilingual spell check questions
Yes, but it can be quite unreliable , which is what I expect, because there is no reliable distinction pattern for what makes up one portion of a text (Is it sentences? Lines? Paragraphs?) And on such a portion choosing the language that yields fewer errors is also not a reliable decision. It pretty ...

Now you can subscribe to the "Annoucements" forum at the bottom left - that will notify you whenever there is a new topic (and thus a new version) available. I'm sure that should help in automation, or at least in tracking news.

Re: V9.1 Re: Manage History Lists
A horizontal scrollbar sure, and maybe also a sizable window.
Since I'm not fond of v9.1: isn't "Recently used files" a column header? If yes and it's not readonly, you could drag its end (the right side) to make it wider.
