BSOD when compiling Java in Textpad 5 and Windows XP

Post by redterminator »

Hi,
I just upgraded to Textpad 5.0.3 recently. I'm on Windows XP SP2. When I try to compile a java file several times in a row, I get BSOD with klif.sys listed as the culprit.

Now klif.sys is a Kaspersky Anti-Virus file but I've never had problems with it before. So I ran a little experiment trying to compile Java using Textpad 4 and had absolutely no errors. Tried again with Textpad 5 and on the third try BSOD.

Any help would be appreciated.

Disable your AV software and compile with TP 5.0.3 and see if it BSODs. My guess is that it will not.
If that is the case, then something in the AV code is going haywire when TP compiles a java file. Might see if they have an updated version and if not, submit a bug to them as their software should not be causing BSOD under any circumstances.
