SELECT PROBLEM

On the CONFIGURE menu, I click BLOCK SELECT MODE then select ONE chararacter and extend the selection to the bottom of that column. Sometimes, the selection is ONE character wide. But sometimes, the selection expands to MULTIPLE characters wide.

How do a restrain the selection to only ONE character wide?

I haven't come across the problem you described. Are you using a fixed-width font like Courier, Consolas or Lucida Console? Block select mode doesn't work very well with proportional fonts.

Courier.

Is selecting one character then extending the selection to the bottom of that column the proper way to prepare for doing EDIT/FILL BLOCK?
