I installed Textpad 5 on XP and it is nicely integrated into explorer with a right click option to open in Textpad. I used to use this feature frequently.

The right click option does not appear when I installed it in Vista, however. I would like to see this feature made to work in Vista as well.

I also have a suggestion...when opening a file with textpad it seems like it always defaults to binary view for unknown file types. It's much more likely that an unknown file type be storing ascii data, and I wish it would more frequently default to this. Otherwise I have to open textpad, manually locate the file, switch from "Auto" to "Text" and then open it -- which can become quite tedious.

Have you tried the following:

From the Configure menu choose:

1. Preferences
2. General
3. Under the heading "Put shortcuts to TextPad on" check "Context Menu"
4. Click Apply / OK.

With regard to opening unknown file types in binary view, I suggest that you ceck the list of files in class for the Binary Document Class, and delete any that you don't want in the list.

From the Configure menu choose:

1. Preferences
2. "+" sign next to Document classes
3. Click on Binary

I hope this helps.
