TextPad application won't open

Hello,
I've been using TextPad on and off for 6 years now. I've never had a problem opening the executable. Today I try to create a text file in Windows Explorer, and though I was able to create the file (right click | New | Text Document - which I have mapped to TextPad as default) and rename it, I was not able to open TextPad. I get the following error msg:

Error Title: TextPad.exe - Entry Point Not Found
"The procedure entry point lstrcm, __could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll"

Instead of the underscores above before "could" there are two boxes in the msg. I just can't replicate that here.

Could it be something with my keyboard? What is lstrcm used for? Does this have to do with a new Windows update?

Thanks,
Forena99

Which operating system are you using, and what method did you use to open the file?
