Although you provide a number of international characters to be entered into a text message, I feel that this facility should be expanded to allow say the copyright symbol (a "C" inside a circle), trademark symbol (the characters "TM"), registeration symbol (an "R inside a circle) and production symbol (a "P" inside a circle) to name but a few.

Perhaps if there were a "standard" way of describing the symbol (such as "(", "C" and ")" to describe the copyright symbol), the facility could include an option for the user to create his own symbol set.

Perhaps I'm lost here, are you refering to the entries in the Clip Library?

If so, those are something you can edit yourself. Either right-click on the particular entity you'd like to edit or edit an entire book by right clicking on the title and select Edit Book.

The point is - how do I enter the character I want. A "P" inside a circle is not in the standard character set. How can I therefore edit it into the clip library?

You can copy those special characters to clipboard from another program, and paste into clipboard for future use. You may want to include them in your own new clip library in case a future upgrade overwrites the default libraries.

I doubt a P within a circle (U+24C5) is supported in TextPad's character set anyway, since the editor is 8 bit only.

If you run the Character Map program in Windows (under Start->Accessories) you can copy the characters from there (8-bit characters, that is). It also shows you the keystrokes to enter them directly. For example, the copyright sign is Alt+0169.
