We have discovered a crash that happens consistently in Vista.
If you run a regular expression that finds too much information, TextPad will give you the following error:
"Unexpected and unrecoverable error. Would you like to save a diagnostic file?"
It's a hard crash, so you lose any unsaved changes (obviously).
In XP, under the same circumstances, Textpad will state that a recursion error has occurred, but it doesn't crash. Instead, it gives you a warning that you can cancel and then continue on with your work.
For information purposes, the regular expression mines data from a paragraph and pulls out indexable phrases based on a code and makes a list of those phrases.
We found this on Textpad 5.1 and 5.2 on a machine running Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1, and 1GB of RAM
Thank you for any suggestions or help.
