TextPad 5.2.0 is NOT Vista compatible

The missing of the requestedExecutionLevel manifest makes TextPad unusable under Vista!

If you forget to launch TextPad as an administrator files changed under C:\Program Files are silently duplicated into the VirtualStore.
I would expect an error message.

Vista is out for more than 14 month. Windows 7 Beta is out...
Why isn't it possible to recognize UAC and just to add an asInvoker-Manifest to the EXE?
Why is the registered user forced to hack the internal RT_MANIFEST resource by its own?

This will be fixed in the next maintenance upgrade. An announcement will be made in the Forum when it becomes available for download.

why isn't the vista bug in the FAQ?

thanks - this thread explained something that's been bugging me for the day. However a bug as painful as this should be flagged in the FAQ as a minimum - the professional thing to do as a firm would be to flag the issue and avoid selling the product to users of an OS in which it doesn't work properly.

It's working fine for me on Vista. Am I missing something?
