Do I have to uninstall TextPad 4.5 before trying to install TextPad 5?

And, will my licence - purchased 3-4 years ago - still cover me with the updated software?

I don't know whether you have to uninstall first.

However, when I upgraded from 4.7.3 to 5.xxx, my configuration was lost: macros, colors, additional document classes, etc. I had to come back to 4.7.3 and recover my previous configuration from reg files I had saved before and from my desktop computer. I am still using 4.7.3 today.

I remember that my license was still active.
