Is it possible to use the textpad "Find In Files" feature in a command line more. The reason I ask is we have to search huge directory tree and it causes an out of memory when searching for a string in the files in multiple directory.

Maybe you should try WildEdit (from this site), I think it's specifically intended for addressing large directory trees full of files.
